Profile

Sarah completed her training in General Surgery in 2014 and then undertook colorectal fellowship training through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) in Adelaide and Melbourne, Australia. She acquired additional expertise in pelvic floor conditions whilst undertaking a further post fellowship appointment at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin.Sarah’s areas of expertise include endoscopy

(colonoscopy and gastroscopy), minimally invasive surgery (for a variety of conditions, including colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and endometriosis), pelvic floor conditions and anorectal conditions/proctology. She is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of surgeons and is the incoming co-chair of General Surgical training for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Sarah was absolutely delighted to return home to take up a Consultant appointment at Christchurch Public Hospital in 2017. She joined Christchurch Colorectal Group in 2018. Sarah enjoys connecting with her patients, supporting and empowering them in their health journey. Outside of work she values time with her family, and enjoys running, cycling and food!
